D day minus 2 - The long trek from Cape Town
Yesterday was that day when the approximate 36 hours of travel time started for me. Three flights and a 45 minute bus trip, starting in Cape Town, to get me to Oviedo.
I must confess, my cautious nature attributed to the additional four to five hours of those hours. There was an earlier final flight that could have had me there sooner.
As I write this, I am sitting at Madrid airport waiting for that later final flight, and then the bus trip.
I am glad that I added a rest day before starting the big walk. I'm going to need it. I am 110% sure that I will be exploring Oviedo and surrounds tomorrow, perhaps adding around 5 to 10 km of final training I need to kick start these legs that have been doing practically nothing other than sit around for two days.
Best I end this now. Operating on three hours of sleep since I woke up at 4:00 am on Friday morning.
Pics to follow tomorrow's post.
