Planned distance of 10.3km
Due to illness and being on antibiotics I did another short day today.
After a lovely evening and sleeping all on my own I set off from La Espina around 8:00. A chilly start to the day at only 12 degrees and misty. Fortunately the mist burnt off quickly and it started warming up to a more comfortable temperature.
Shortly after leaving town the off-road tracks started, most of them were muddy from yesterday afternoons rain. This made the task of negotiating and keeping the feet dry very difficult. Sadly my shoes did not stay mud free for long. They were plastered within 500 meters.
As the sun rose and the dew on the plants started sparkling at me. I love the different color combinations of the different vegetation.
The obligatory cow bells rang wishing me as I passed. So coming across puddle after puddle was not too bad. The lovely aromas surrounded me most of the way (perhaps not so aromatic, as the aromas I am referring to are deposited by the four legged livestock around). However if you ever visited a farm or grew up on one, this is sometimes a pleasant reminder of days past.
The hydrangeas are stunning and the color combinations are spectacular, especially at the Capilla Del Cristo De Los Afligados, purple, pink and white.
There are some interestingly decorated houses along the paths.
It’s interesting how the paths criss cross over the countryside. It’s almost like it’s going through someone’s backyard.
I came across what I presume either was a carpenters work area/sales/display. Love what he used to make the lampshade below.
Some aspects of Tineo remind me of one of the five villages on the Cinque Terre in Italy, Corniglia is located on top of a mountain and the slopes are used for agriculture. Many little passages and stairs. I’ll add a few pictures below.
Some pics of the day.
Love the chandelier 😎
